So, a year ago January I decided to start an experiment. I would design a brand new, one-of-a-kind post card every month, create signed and numbered prints, and mail it each month to subscribers. I’d like to thank my first subscribers for taking that brave step with me…! Your support was exciting and comforting, and I thank you! Now, a year in, I’m glad to say that the experiment worked — in many ways!

See?

2013 in Post Cards

2013 in Post Cards

First, I was able to use each month’s post card to try something new — or to play with something old! Many of this past year’s post cards were experiments with Manga Studio’s art tools, learning and stretching them. Others were play with colored pencil on toned paper. Either way, it was a bit of a creative playground, and I enjoyed pulling out the tools and playing with them.

Second, it gave me a self-imposed deadline, with a commitment to fill it! I had some late months, and I see many ways I could improve my workflow to meet unexpected time challenges. In that way, it was a learning experience for me.

Third, with the funds from the subscriptions, I was able to buy the materials for my real-life art show at Art Access Gallery! Subscribers, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. *hugs*

I’m keeping up the subscription, and if you like what you see, then by all means  — join in the fun!
