Yesterday, in a fit of slump, I invited Twitter followers to give me prompts for quick-sketches, and over the course of half an hour, I had the following:

Happy Pumpkin

Running Pineapple

Bad phone photos, here… and all of them very quick sketches. I had a lot of fun doing them, though! Thanks to those who gave prompts. I will probably do this again. 🙂

The slump was mostly lack-of-sleep-induced, plus it’s been a busy couple of days. When I have to remember something, I put all of my energy into that instead of into being productive, it seems. If I lose myself in work, I forget things. I’ve gotta figure out how to manage that better.

Anyway!

I’m enjoying my current schedule, mostly. I use my morning walk to think about what I want to accomplish with my work time, and that is working well. I like having the activity, and I’m feeling better for it. The progress I’m making on my paintings feels small and slow, but I am making progress. I can usually put a little work into several different canvases in a day, which is good. I feel, though, that I need to get a better sense of how long it is taking me to finish a single painting.
